Christmas Card

Sharing the holiday cards I made for the boys' teachers this year.

I used texture paste mixed with gray ink and Martha Stewart glitter on a
brick stencil my My Favorite Things for the background.
The chalkboard and accessories are by Lawn Fawn.
I think the sentiment is HA.

Can you see the subtle glitter in the bricks?
The string with lights was purchased at JoAnn Fabrics a few years ago.

LF: You Light up My Life!

Sharing a little card I made when experimenting with shakers.
This was a special edition Lawn Fawn stamp set for Studio Calico I think...
I put glittery DCWV paper in the background of the bulb for more sparkle.
I cut out the inside of the bulb to make it a shaker.

Best Pencil Sharpener Review and Gift Idea

Gift idea (scroll down)

Wanted to share a product discovery with my followers.
A teacher in my building ordered these pencil sharpeners and they are FANTASTIC!
I have been so frustrated with the lead in mechanical pencils snapping off constantly and regular pencils being eaten by manual sharpeners. I used it in a friend's classroom and got a sharpener to do an objective review from the company, ClassroomFriendlySupplies..

Overall, I found the sharpener is easy to use, sturdy for classroom use, and certainly effective.  I have never had a manual sharpener give the point that this sharpener provided.  I sharpened Ticonderogas as well as "cheap" pencils with equal success.  The cheap pencils weren't chewed down to the nub!!!

I do not recommend sharpening colored pencils in it.  I think the lead is too soft.  I tried a few Crayola colored pencils and had success with a few and then one tip broke off. BUT, watching THIS video, I was able to remove the blade, poke out the white pencil lead and had it working perfectly in under a minute.

There's a video HERE showing the company's website
as well as how to use the sharpener.

PINCH Tabs to release

These will be adorable and practical Christmas gifts for the boys' teachers this year.
I fired up my Silhouette and cut the owl and letter out of black vinyl.
(The recipient, Mrs. P,  loves owls).
I used the same download and cut a bigger owl for the matching gift bag.

These retail for $24.99, but if you buy three, they are $17.99 each.
I am going to get these for the boys' teachers for Christmas and take advantage of the bundle pricing.  Also, if you are in PTA, you could take advantage of even better pricing with larger bundles.  There are SIX colors to choose from to match school colors, the classroom décor or just go neutral with the black.

As a teacher myself, I think these are AWESOME gifts.
They can be given "as is" or decorated up and personalized.

I was not paid for this review and I do not receive compensation for the review.
I was given a free sharpener to review and share my honest opinion.

SSS: Wrap It Up

Quick post to share a card I made using the Simon Says Stamp :Wrap It Up Challenge for my inspiration. I went to Hobby Lobby today to get some birthday paper and the light bulb went off.  I could literally wrap it up with the birthday paper.

The top panel is b-day paper over a piece of self-adhesive cork for dimension and ease.
I added ribbon  and a handmade tag to complete the gift look.

Quick, easy and coordinates with the gift!

This would be cute with holiday paper too!

CTS145: Super Hero Power

Inspired by the CAS(E) Sketch #145 this weekend.
I used the idea of the stacked sentiments with the main element to the right.

Here's my take on the sketch.
Mama Elephant Tiny Heroes set with a Fiskars set.
The hero was stamped, cut out and colored and placed on a white embossed stamped image and adhered with a wobble spring!
FUN!  Check out the wobble action on my Instagram account @kelbertram

I colored the letter with Copics.
I added Glossy Accents to the hero's accessories.

Here's my take on the sketch using Lawn Fawn's "Fintastic Friends" stamp and die sets.

Furry Friend with a dash of Glitter

Hello there.
Sharing a card I made for my mom's birthday.
She loves squirrels so I used the Lawn Fawn's  "Critters in the Burbs"  and "Chit Chat"  sets.
The background panel was made with texture paste mixed with Distress Ink and Martha Stewart fine glitter on the Hero Arts Monogram stencil.
The cloud background is washi tape.
I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Furry Friends Challenge and the Lawnscaping Sparkle and Shine Challenge (glitter in the texture paste).
Click on photo to see it better.

Hard to see but I put Martha Stewart fine glitter in the texture paste.

Have a GREAT day,
Kelly
