Mother's Day card w/ daisies

Hello there.
Sharing a card I made for Mother's Day.
It features a daisy stamp set by Paper and Such.

The cute polka dot paper and "barn" paper is
from the MME "On Bright Side One" collection I picked up at Paper and Such.
This pad has two patterns I am lovin' right now, tiny chevrons and tiny polka dots.

I stamped and fussy cut the daisies,
added some Martha flocking powder to the center and adhered them with pop dots.
I colored the leaves and stems with my Prismacolor pencils.

RIC10, CCC189 and SSS: Gettin' Inky

Hi.
I made another card originally inspired by the current Runway Inspired Challenge.
I decided to play with my distress inks to create the background.
I started with a piece of white paper, added a layer of Antique Linen, followed by Spiced Marmalade, and a splash of Pumice.
After that, I kept adding the orange until I got the brightness I wanted... which was a lot of ink!
I stamped the subtle chevron on the side with London Fog

I wanted to add a bit of cheer to the card and went with a piece of EP polka dot paper for my tissue box and some felt for texture.
I pulled the gold from the photo to the card with the gold brads.

RIC#10: Carbon Copied with the Bald Dragonfly!

I am very excited to share a card today.
Karen Baker has a feature on her blog where she occasionally teams up with another card maker and they use the same stamp set and make a  "carbon copy" in a challenge.
This is such a great way to see how the same stamp set can be used in different ways.
I love this feature of Karen's blog and tickled pink (or should I say orange)
that she asked me to play along.

So, welcome to my blog if you're a first time visitor!
If you're a follower of mine and have not seen Karen's creations, then you're in for a treat!

Karen and I decided to play along with the latest Runway Inspired Challenge AND
use Lawn Fawn's "On the Mend" stamp set.
I also used Lawn Fawn's Chevron Backdrops.

 Orange, gray and gold?
Can't say that it's a dress you'd find me wearing, but it makes for a great card challenge!
I went with a gray background with bright orange accents.

Trying to show the Stickled flowers and the glossed vase:

CFC49: kites!

I am so into chevrons right now.
I can't wear them and they don't fit the decor of the house,
but I can sure use them on cards, right?

I made this little card using Lawn Fawn's Chevron Backdrops stamp.
The kite image is from Purple Onion's newest release "The Sweetest Day".
I won the entire collection from the company's blog.
Thank you Purple Onion and Michele!

The kites were stamped, colored, cut out and raised with a pop dot.
Click on the photo for a closer look.

LF Make 'Em Laugh: Pickup Basketball

Hi there.
Well, my pup is making another appearance today.
I saw so many funny cards submitted to the Lawn Fawn "Make 'Em Laugh" challenge
I figured I would try to make one too.  These cards are going to Operation Write Home and will be given to soldiers to send to their friends and family.

The pups are all ready for their pick up game with the rabbits who apparently
have been very "busy" gathering teammates.

LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of masking on this card.
I decided the pups needed matching T-shirts which presented a challenge for the brown pup's tail.

I used a Copic (the one that I have) to create a gray background and realized the bunnies were getting lost, so I tried some distress inks and water mixture and painted the background.
I got the idea because I had just watched Chari Moss's recent video
THIS morning about Distress Watercoloring!
Here's a better picture of the pun and background:

Special thanks to my older brother for helping with the puns.
Others included:
Where did they get all these guys?
Every single one of those guys can put it in the hole
They score like putting eggs in a basket
They could at least wear numbers... and pants
Who's guarding the little gray guy?

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Burbs
Inks: Memento, Distress Faded Jeans and Weathered Wood
Other: Prisma pencils, Liquid Pearls and Recollections hoop, toothpick, Glossy Accents

L32, SSS, ABNH2: Pup in the Window

Hi there.
Had a great time over spring break.
The boys were at grandparents' houses for 3 of the days so I had fun too!  Went scrappy shopping with my Mom and SIL one day and golfed, scrapped and landscaped the others.

Sharing a card I made inspired by a couple of challenges.

The patterned papers are from Lawn Fawn's The Bright Side collection.
I stamped some kraft paper with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern for the back panel.
The window was made with the LF paper.
It was actually a journaling square from one of the sheets.
I carefully cut it out and added acetate I received from Karen Baker.

I stamped, colored and fussy cut the puppy and the HA typewriter.

I stamped the flowers on different patterns from the collection.
The teal flowers are stamped on the bottom label of one of the papers.
There's some cute patterns "hidden" there.
The stems are hand drawn.

I used a Fiskars punch to make the grass.

Showing the window:

Dimension added to the window:

This shows the journaling square I turned into a window:

eta:  My thought was that the dog was taking a break from typing a letter to look out the window at the flowers so the typewriter has a purpose and not randomly placed there, KWIM? The only people stamps I have are playing in snow.  I like the critters doing human things...

Easter card w/ envelope

Happy Spring!
Sharing an Easter card I made to send to a couple people at church.
Features Basic Grey's "Olivia" paper and Lawn Fawn's bunny from "Critters in the Burbs".

The bunny was cut out of the patterned paper.
I added a dab of Stickles to the nose and Liquid Pearls to make a cute tail.

Here's a matching envelope with the cut out bunny:

BNH1: sympathy card

 Greetings!
Today I am sharing a sympathy card I made using Basic Grey's "Granola" collection.
It features the Hero Arts "Layered Flowers" set.

I added some navy flocking powder to the center of the flower:

The flower was stamped on three different papers and layered:

SSS & CFC46: I'm here...

Sharing a Clean and Simple card today inspired by the song,
"How Much is that Doggie in the Window?"

I stamped and colored the pup and cut him out.
This was pup #2.
The first one was too dark for the card, so he's on reserve for another card.
The lighter dog worked better here.

I cut out the window and created the frame using the Wonky Rectangle Spellbinders die.
I used an acetate sheet for the "window".
Karen Baker  used acetate on one of her cards and I loved it.
She was so kind to send some to me to play with.

This was intended as a birthday card, but as I looked at the puppy, I thought this little sentiment from Lawn Fawn's "On the Mend" set was just too prefect....

Trying to show the acetate sheet on top of the dog....
It looks REALLY cool in person!

Supplies:
Papers: Hobby Lobby
Stamps: Lawn Fawn

SSS & PageMaps LO: Dog's New Do!

Lots of scrapbooking lately.
I don't share many b/c they usually end up with pictures of other people so I mainly post my cards.  But today I am sharing a LO of my dog's first "hair cut".
She sheds twice a year and it has always been such a hassle, but DH and I decided to have her shaved last fall.  The angels sang!
I was vacuuming every day and after this, I could skip days here and there.
It was wonderful, but she looked so darn silly to us.
We had never seen her this way.  Fun moment to capture!

I used the sketch from the current PageMaps challenge sponsored by My Scraps and more.
I am also entering this LO in the current Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes.

Sydney's usual "do".  March 2012.
She has an appointment today....
She's SO PRETTY, but bye bye furry dog!
