"HI" card

I found an adorable pack of Amy Butler paper called AB Lotus at Michael's a while back.  It was tiny little thing clearanced for a $1!!!  Of course I grabbed it for making cards.

The papers are so pretty! 

I used "George" on the Cricut for the circle and I used "Storybook" for the flourish and "HI". 

That's the Martha Stewart photo corner punch up there on the left. 

The butterfly is from a Making Memories pack clearanced at Target. 

The edges are inked with Distress Vintage Photo.   

 

I'm submitting it to the City Crafter Challenge week #26 for the "Take Flight" prompt.

I love how this turned out and it can be used for anything!

Caring Hearts Card Drive: Card 2

Hello.  Today I am sharing another clean and simple card I will donate to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  I made four of these for the cause lickety-split! The stamp is from Stampin' Up's "God is Love" set.  I colored the bird with watercolor pencils, blended it and added a few gems for pop.  It says "Peace Be Unto You" under the bird.  My original one had a white tail and orange beak, but I felt it took away from the impact.  It screamed "tail!" and not "peace".

Hi Everyone. Today's card was prompted by Sketch #57 at Limelight Papercrafts. The challenge was to use the sketch as the design inspiration and LEAVES as the focal point. I stamped the leaves on cardstock. The orange and blue leaves were accented with Stickles and the red leaves were misted with a mixture of water and Perfect Pearls (hard to see in picture). I am so glad I picked up a new pair of scissors this week in time for this challenge. Those leaves can be tricky!

This card will be sent to one of our teen helpers at church. Each week my teaching partner and I have a teen help us in the age three class. Each teen works one Sunday a month. They are such a huge help to us and I want to be sure they know how much they are appreciated!

Clean and Simple

I am sharing a card I have made for the Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge sponsored by Plaid Crafts which features FOUR beautiful colors: yellow, blue-teal, pink and green. I am also submitting this card to the wee Memories challenge #24 this week which prompts us to use Clean and Simple design or tags and is generously sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.

This card literally took only a couple minutes to make. I embossed the front, added the ribbon and floss and adhered the flowers. VIOLA! A quick, but cute card for any occasion.

Halloween Invite: Version #5

Ahhh, the last invite to share. Now I really need to pick a date and complete the details for the inside! Our church's trunk-or-treat is scheduled on the date I originally wanted.

This version is really different from the others. I hadn't ripped paper in a long time so I ripped it on the diagonal and inked it with Distress. The banner is held by those cute little MM crystal looking brads and the spider is hanging from the staples. I added the little bat on this one too. He's resting up for the party, tee hee. I considered putting some Stickles on him but I wanted the spider to be the focal point. Hmmmm... I may go back and Stickle him anyway.

Halloween Invite: Version #4

Back again with the fourth version of my Halloween Party invitation. This one is similar to the last one, but here Mr. Spider is holding the party banner, I added Stickles to the polka dot paper and separated the papers with orange ribbon that I stamped with "boo!".

Curious, this was my first time using flocking powder on a project.

Have you tried it? Like it? What kind of project did you use it on?

It was such a horrible mess, I am not sure I'll use it much, but my wheels are turning for Christmas..... advice with this stuff?

Halloween Invite: Version #3

Ahhhhh... it's a blustery afternoon here and some the leaves are falling off the trees. I noticed my neighbor's tree has turned a little red. LOVE FALL! Gearing up for the Halloween party. Bought several bags of treats at Target yesterday. Now, we just have to keep the bags closed for a month! hee hee hee...

I am sharing invite version #3 today. Mr. Spider was cut from "Doodlecharms" cartridge on the Cricut and then flocked with black powder. This version features the same banner from Lawn Fawn's "Bannerific" and "Harold's ABC" sets. I used Karen Foster Loopy Brads to hold up the banner. I LOVE those brads and decided that other people might enjoy them too if I actually USED them instead of hoard them in my stash.

The challenge is to use a tree or book in the project and I used my $1 tree stamp from Michael's as the focal point. I was happy that the image embossed so nicely! You Light Up My Day!

Anybody light up your day recently? Today I am sharing a card I have made for the City Crafter Challenge Blog. This challenge was to make something inspired by light or use the word"light" etc. in a project. I made a card featuring a handmade light bulb. I traced the top of the bulb from a cup and then made the bottom part by hand. I added a black circle punch to the bottom, covered it with a little aluminum foil and added some lines with a bone folder. Thanks to Lawn Fawn for being this week's sponsor.
