Poppy Sketch #17

Back today with another card for Poppy Sketch Challenge #17.
This challenge is sponsored by Starving Artists Stamps.
I am using an adorable alien stamp called Final Frontier

I stamped the alien in Navy ink and paired it with a sentiment by Lawn Fawn.
The shimmering silver background paper is by Cut Cardstock.
The glittery star and raspberry papers are by DCWV.
I embossed the stars in white to create a background.
The circles were made with Lawn Fawn dies.

Thanks for stopping by.
I can't wait to see what you create using this great sketch and color challenge.

Poppy Sketch #16: Gift Card Holder

Back today with another card for the Poppy Sketch Challenge Blog.
We are using Cut Cardstock for our cards.

Here's my interpretation.
The base is Cut Cardstock. It has a bit of shimmer to it and it is VERY sturdy.
The patterned papers, die and stamps are all by Lawn Fawn.
I made a gift card holder by layering the LF "Stitched Journaling" die.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn "Birthday Tags" and "Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum"
Die cut: Lawn Fawn's "Stitched Journaling" die
Patterned Papers: Lawn Fawn's "Dewey Decimal"
Cardstock: Cut Cardstock
Punch: Fiskars

Can't wait to see what you make,
Kelly

Poppy Sketch 15

Back on this Monday morning with another card featuring the sketch from Poppy Sketches.
We are featuring wood veneer from Gina K designs.
I am also featuring a stamp by Gina K called Beyond Baskets

I didn't have any houndstooth patterned paper or stamps,
so I cut the background design on my Silhouette.
I colored the wagon with Copics.
I punched flowers out of the foil and glitter paper (both by DCWV).
I covered the wood veneer with Stampendous glitter.
To set the glitter, I sprayed it with a bit of HAIRSPRAY (whaaaaat?)
Please tell me how you would have done it. I didn't want to use gloss on top...

Here's a close-up:

Hope you play along with this week's Poppy Sketch Challenge!

Back with  the new Poppy Sketches Challenge #14.
We are featuring Halloween stamps by Starving Artists, but you can use

I played a bit with the sketch and ended up making three cards.
As you can tell, I was a but partial towards the cute mummy!

Here are the stamps featured by the Design Team:

I did generational stamping with the tree stamp on the last card.

Poppy Sketch #13

It is time for a new sketch challenge at Poppy Sketches.
This challenge is sponsored by Stampendous.

I used this butterfly stamp

Butterfly Pattern Rubber Stamp

Fall Tendril Rubber Stamp

I stamped the tendril with Memento London Fog.
I embossed the butterfly image 3 times with Ranger black Sparkle embossing powder.
I cut each one out and colored with Copics to fit the color palette as best I could.
My "pink" Copics are the RVs and a bit more purple-y.
The yellow one is raised with foam.

The sparkle embossing powder looks AMAZING with this stamp.
I made another card featuring the whole stamp I will post soon.
Can't wait to see what you create with the challenge!

Poppy Sketch #12: gift bag

Back again with the latest challenge from Poppy Sketches.

This challenge was sponsored by  iralamijashop which features handmade digital images.

As I looked at the sketch my eye was drawn toward the top of the sketch and
I visualized a fold.  So, I decided to decorate a plain bag.  Got it all girlie
to use as a gift bag down the road.
I used the sponsor's digital image and created a tag.
The rectangular shape is represented in the back die cut.
The line is shown in washi tape.

The lighter flowers were embossed in white and then I painted them with a barn door distress ink/water/perfect pearl mixture.
The top flower was colored with Copics for more pop.

Supplies:
Dies: Lawn Fawn's "Tag, You're It", "Scallop Circles"and "Stitched Journaling Card"
Stamps: Hero Arts
Misc: wood veneer, pearls, sequins, rhinestones

Can't wait to see how you were inspired by the sketch!

Poppy Sketch #11: House Mouse

Welcome to Poppy Sketch #11 sponsored by Stampendous.
Laura gave us a great color combo to work with on this one.

I chose a House Mouse stamp called "Gifts to Tie".
I love the potential versatility of this stamp.
Many gift-giving occasions to ink/color it up:
Masculine colors, girl colors, Christmas colors or Valentine's Day.
It is a really versatile image!

I added glitter by Stampendous on the ribbon

 Thanks for stopping by.
Can't wait to see how the sketch inspires you!

Poppy Sketch #10

SO excited today to share my FIRST EVER card as a design team member!
I am proud to announce that I am part of the incredible team at
Poppy Sketches for the next 6 months!

Here's the wonderful sketch:

Inspired by the 3 triangles, I decided to use a trio of pumpkins/gourds by Starving Artists
They were stamped, colored and cut out.

The fence was cut on my Cameo on the white Silhouette adhesive cardstock and inked with Distress inks.  The grass was cut with the Lawn Fawn grass die twice, layered and raised.

The background was stamped with a wee star stamp in my collection and embossed.
Then the panel was covered with a variety of blue Distress inks.
The embossed stars resisted the Distress ink.

The pumpkins are nestled behind the grasses.
That top layer of grass is raised with dimensional foam.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
So excited to be a part of this talented team.
I hope you will play along!

PS9: One

Here's a card I made for the current Poppy Sketch Challenge #9.
I just got that punchinella gold "ribbon" from Neat and Tangled.
How cool is that stuff?  I bought it in black and white also.

The "one" letters are made with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.
Wee bit of glitter swiped on the letters.

This was a card I made for a one-year-old sweet girl.

Thanks for stopping by.
Can' wait to share some personal good news with ya!
Stay tuned...

PS8: Hey There!!

Sharing a card I made for the new Poppy Sketches Challenge #8.
I love how this one turned out!
It's ok to pat yourself on the back every now and then, eh?

I stamped the Simon Says Stamp flower set on white paper first.
Then I stamped and cut out the Lawn Fawn Polaroid stamp.

I positioned the Polaroid over the flower pattern until I
liked it and then trimmed it up to match.

Haven't used a flower embellie in a LONG time.
Found the black one in the stash. Black flower???
Better than the two attempts to color a butterfly veneer. Couldn't get it the "right" color!

 Supplies
Stamps:  Paper Smooches, Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp
Inks: Distress and Simon Says Stamp
Papers: Simon Says Stamp and AC
Enamel dots: homemade!!

Here's the Inspiration from Poppy Sketches:

Two of the strips are paper and two are stickers.
The owl is raised with foam.
I used the Poppy Sketch #7 Challenge for the design.
I added Stickles to the tree sticker.

Thanks for visiting.

PS5: Hello

Made a "hello" card to go along with the new Poppy Sketch Challenge #5
I pulled out a Hero Arts stamp that I had never used.

I stamped it in black and "watercolored" the background with Distress Weathered Wood.
Then, I colored the flowers and leaves with Copics.
The "Hello" was again stamped and embossed with Ranger black glitter powder,
cut out and raised with dimensional foam.

The "enamel dots" are homemade from Perle beads.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
Please consider joining my card drive for Emma, a little girl in Dayton, Ohio battling cancer.
Drive goes until July 2014.

PS4: Dream

This was a tough challenge for me because these are not colors I use very much.  After digging through my entire paper and ink stash I realized that I had Copic markers that were close. I used them to customize white cardstock.
The picture looks for blue than it is in real life.

Lots of Lawn Fawn used here (stamps, paper, dies)
I die cut the side strips with white paper and colored them with the Copics .

Supplies
Pattnered paper: Lawn Fawn
Stamps: Lawn Fawn "dream" and "bannerific"
Dies: Lawn Fawn borders
Other: twine, Copics, homemade enamel dots, sequins, Stickles

Thanks for stopping by today.
Please check out my Card Drive for Emma.
Drive goes until July.
Random prizes will be awarded.

PS3: gift card holder w/ Lawn Fawn

Joined in the new Poppy Sketch challenge sponsored by lawn Fawn.
I pulled out my Lawn Fawn for this one!
When I saw the criss-cross lines on the sketch
I decided to use paper and make a pocket out of the design.
I need lots of gift card holders this spring and thought the sketch could go that direction.

Features papers and stamps by Lawn Fawn as well as their new grass die.
Those are my handmade "enamel dots" made out of Perle beads.

Please check out my Card Drive for Emma.
I have collected a little over 200 cards for this little girl battling cancer!
Drive goes until early July!

Poppy Sketch#1: gift card holders

 Hello.
Found a new sketch challenge and played along.
It is called Poppy Sketches. The sketch is below.

I decided to make this a gift card holder.
Of course I took the picture, loaded it and THEN realized I failed to tuck one in there when I took the pic.  It would tuck behind that glitter piece and the flowers.

I stamped the Hero Arts flowers, colored them with Copics, cut them out and layered them.
The papers are American Crafts.

I will use these for teachers at the end of the year.
The second one is for the school librarian, of course!

OK, this is the first one I made featuring Lawn Fawn's Dewey Decimal papers.
The gift card would tuck behind that punched line.
I made this one and THEN realized that there was a color palette to the challenge as well.
I am so with it....

Thanks for stopping by!
Love to have you join my Card Drive for Emma.
Prizes will be drawn at the end of July so there's plenty of time.
Maybe use the next Poppy Sketch for inspiration!  (:
