LP #72: floral stamps & SSS: Anything Goes

Hello.
I am sharing a card I made for Limelight Papercrafts LAST challenge #72 Floral Stamps.  Mandy had her third child and has decided to discontinue the challenges.
I wish her much happiness with her growing family!
I am also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Anything Goes

The first challenge was to use floral stamps with the sketch below.
I was inspired by a thread at Two Peas where people were sharing their teacher appreciation ideas.  The saying on this card is from a post by "Cori". She shared that she gave a flower and tag/card with this saying. How cute!
This will be paired with a flower and is for our little guy's preschool teacher.

I stamped the flowers on companion papers and used different gems for the centers.

Here's the cute little sketch from Limelight Papercrafts:

Supplies:
Stamps:  flowers by Autumn Leave (I think); "Harold's ABC" by Lawn Fawn; "thank you" by Hero Arts
Ink: Memento (my favorite!) and Distress in Weathered Wood
Papers: Amy Butler for K&Company "AB Lotus" pad and cardstock
Other: MS Circle Cutter for 4" circle base, "George" cart 3 1/2" circle, scallop scissors, baker's twine by The Twinery, gems, pop dots, MS butterfly punch

Thanks for looking!

SSS: Matthew's Card

Today I am sharing my little Matthew's card for the Simon Says Stamp Children's Challenge.
Matthew just turned 4 and loves Hotwheels, Trios, and crafty stuff esp. painting and coloring.
Like his brother, he made a card for his cousin's 13th birthday.
He chose an animal from the Create a Critter cartridge.
Can you guess the animal? hee hee hee

He laughed so hard when he added the google eyes!
I had to pry the Stickles out of his hand.
He did a great job of squeezing out small amounts though.
I was a bit nervous when he wanted to add my precious glitter without help... eek!

I didn't realize he signed the card twice.
He messed up the "w" the first time so I think that is why he rewrote his name... too cute!
He stamped the balloon on the inside and colored it blue, his favorite color.

Did you guess the right animal?
It is really a koala, but I think he looks more like this:

Have a great day!

SSS: Alex's card for the Kids Challenge

Today I am sharing Alex's birthday card he made for his cousin.
He loves to use the "embosser" (oddly did not want to use it for this card) and punch circles.
We are entering it into the Simon Says Stamp: Children's Challenge.

Alex (age 5 1/2) picked the snake image off the Create a Critter cartridge.
I simply cut out the image in white and let him color it.
He loved adding the Stickles to the red tongue!
He stamped the sentiment and placed it so that it didn't cover up the snake.

I offered google eyes, but he declined.  He liked the orange eyes that he drew:

He stamped the balloon image on the inside and colored it.

Here he is working on his card with cars nearby, of course:

Thanks for looking.  I'll share his little brother's entry next time...
You GOTTA see that one!  hee hee

Bunny Cookies

 Happy Easter!

Used the meringue buttercream recipe from Karen's Cookies
The dough is a roll out by Pillsbury.
I plan to try Karen's sugar cookies dough next time since this dough spreads so much.
She has GREAT video tutorials on her website too.
This is my second time glazing using her technique.

Just put a dollop of icing for the tail and added some non pariels.

Have a great weekend!

B-day chick for a boy!

Hi.
Today I am sharing a card I made for my nephew's birthday.
I think he'll find this one kinda funny.

I stamped and colored the chicks.
The middle guy has flocking powder and all have some Glossy Accents.
The papers are from Basic Grey's "Cupcake" collection.

I am entering this into a few challenges:

Wee Memories #52: All Things Adorable:  That chick stamp is darling.

Lawnscaping #8: Calling all Critters (my only LF critters are Winter Bunny and the Heebie Jeebies and I just couldn't think of something for them so I decided to showcase the Say Cheese set with this cute chick stamp I've had forever).

Simon Stays Stamp: Emboss It! : Used the Spots-n-Dots folder on the background

Supplies:
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn "Say Cheese"; All Night Media (balloon); Stamps by Judith (chick)
Ink: Memento
Papers: Basic Grey "Cupcake"

OTWC #51: Easter Treat Bags

Hi there.  Today I am sharing my little treat bags I made for my Sunday School class.
I am entering this into Off the Wall Craftiness challenge #51: Easter.
I stamped the jar in black and then the jelly beans, doing a little masking.
I colored the jelly beans with Prismacolor Pencils and added Glossy Accents for shine.
There is also a bit of gloss on the jar.

The base toppers are 7" X 6".  Then the colored papers on top are 7" X 3".
I like to add the colored paper on top of the BACK of the staples to protect hands from the staples.

I actually made 20.

The poem is from the internet.  I put this part on the back:
A BAG FULL OF JELLY BEANS COLORFUL AND SWEET,
IS A PRAYER, IS A PROMISE, IS A SPECIAL TREAT
MAY THE JOY OF CHRIST'S RESURRECTION
FILL YOUR HEART AND BLESS YOUR LIFE.

Supplies:
Stamps: Close to my Heart "Little Treasures" (thanks Bobbie)
Ink: Memento
Other: Prismacolor Pencils, Glossy Accents, Twine

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a blessed Easter!

eek! Green Monster Cupcakes

OK, these aren't very scary!
For Alex's snack day at kindergarten, I usually make cookies or simple cupcakes with sprinkles, but I found these ADORABLE edible eye balls at Michael's and had to get them.
Alex wanted me to make the hairy monster cupcakes, but wanted green ones.
I use the Wilton Buttercream icing with tip # 233
I have been using that recipe for years. Yummy on sugar cookies too!

Here they are:

He said I could skip the mouth:

The blue guy in the back was the inspiration:

Have a great day!

Lawnscaping #7: a happy hello

Happy Hello to ya!
I designed this card for the Lawnscaping Challenge #7: Make your own background.
I paired the smiley face icon of "Say Cheese" with Harold's ABCs for the "happy".
I started to use red and it quickly gave a mustard/ketchup feel so I bagged that idea.
I like the black, yellow and white much better.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn's "Say Cheese" and "Harold's ABC"
Ink: Memento
Papers: BG and cardstock
Misc:  Twine, rick rack, pop dots, Cuttin Up cart, Spellbinders Labels One, flower, Glossy Accents

Have a great day!

Wee Memories #50: b-day card

Hello.
I am sharing a birthday card for our nephew.
I was inspired by Wee Memories Challenge #50, which is a color challenge this week.
The inspiration photo urged me to take a multi-color approach for a festive card.

The cupcake was stamped on 5 different colors of cardstock as well as white.
I paper pieced the icing to the colored pieces and added dimensional paint to the icing.
Cutting these tiny pieces is really getting to be a challenge.
I must get to the eye doctor.
Time for a check up when ya can't see anything up close.

Inspiration Photo:

Supplies:
Papers:  Basic Grey "cupcake" and cardstock
Stamps:  Lawn Fawn "Bannerific" and Basic Grey value set
Ink: Memento black, Faded Jeans distress
Other: Thickers #5, dimensional paint, pop dots, twine, Stickles

Thanks for coming by!

Christmas 2008 LO#2

Hello.
Today I am sharing a Christmas layout for 2008.
I used Allison Davis' Sketchbook volume 6 for the design.

Not real crazy about the papers, but I bought the pack a
long time ago and didn't want to waste. LOVE the stickers though!

I added some liquid pearls to Santa and red Stickles to
Rudolph's nose and the peppermint candy.
This layout highlights some of our holiday traditions.
I made a different 2 page LO that has the family pics and the boys
opening and playing with their gifts.

I generally do 4 pages for each Christmas and birthday.
The boys are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 here.

Thanks for looking.
Christmas 2009 gets the Basic Grey "Jovial" line!  Yippee!

SI#213: Christmas LO 2008

Here's a layout using Sketch Inspiration's Sketch #213
The packages were cut out of another sheet of paper and then
I added Stickles and floss to enhance them.
I added liquid Pearls and Stickles to the sticker on the right also.
The right side is just a collage of photos.

Here's the great sketch.  I used the presents in place of the vines and flowers on the left.

Papers:  Karen Foster and cardstock
Other:  Stickles, Liquid Pearls, floss, gems, EK scallop edge punch

Thanks for visiting.  Trying to catch up (ha ha ha) on some scrapbooking....
