BG60: Baby Card

Hi there. Been a while since I have been able to post.
Mom mom is going on day 8 in the hospital (5 in ICU) after contracting meningitis.
No idea where she got it and rather rare but she battled and is slowly recovering.
She will probably go to a rehab facility tomorrow or Friday
and be on antibiotics for about 2 more weeks.

So with a minute to breathe I am finally trying to get the boys back on schedule.
I went through my files to look for some cards I had not shared and
found a baby card I made for church.

Bit of paper piecing on the horse:

I used Basic Grey's "Oliver" 6x6 pad and the
rocking horse is from Lawn Fawn's "Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum" set.

I'm entering this in the Basic Grey Challenge #60: Something New

Always fun to celebrate a new baby.
At mom's hospital they play a short lullaby on the intercoms each time a baby is born.
Very sweet and a nice way to share a little joy among all the staff and patients.

I have been trying to look at blogs on my iphone but gave up, just too hard to see so my apologies for not being out and about commenting.

Take care,
Kelly

EP cards Abrams' Sketch #5

This is my final card for Lucy Abrams' Sketch week.
If I may say so myself, this card turned out so cute.
I loved the sketch which gave me such a great starting point.
Not sure if the polka dot paper gives it the
boost of cuteness or the adorable tissue image from Lawn Fawn.
Probably the combination of all three, eh?

Side view.  I put a little flocking powder on the tissue for some texture.

Here is her Sketch #5:

What a fun sketch week.  I hope you have enjoyed these cards inspired by Lucy Abrams.

Abrams sketch #4: CFC 34

Me again.

Today's card was inspired by Lucy Abrams' day 4 of her sketch week!
I took a few liberties with the sketch.
I made my circle full.  It is a piece of painted chipboard.
I embossed the star on the top as well as the sentiment.
I stamped the sentiment a tad too high for my liking so I added the gems the fill in the gap
Another card for my stash, most likely for a male birthday
I'll need a lot of them this spring!

Her Sketch:

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
